VENSON L. SCOTT, age 77, of Cuba, Alabama, the second child born to the late Robert and Olivia Bollar Scott in Sumter County, Alabama, transitioned and entered into eternal rest April 3, 2018 at Rush Foundation Hospital, Meridian, Mississippi. Service of Remembrance is Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, located 5051 Kinterbish 10, Cuba. Rev. Walter Ball will deliver the eulogy and offer words of comfort and consolation; Rev. C. Wayne Davis is church pastor. Venson will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in Cagus Cemetery, also Cuba. After the committal service repast is in the Fellowship Hall of Zion Hill. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (April 13th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. On Saturday morning at 10:40 a.m. the processional leaves from the Scott residence. Venson met and married Betty Hopson in 1964. After marriage, they made their home in Aurora, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a brother, Charles Edward Scott, a son-in-law, Willie Jeff Silliman and his beloved newborn son, Venson Scott, Jr. Those who are left to cherish precious memories are: a wife, Warrine Scott; three (3) sons, Eddie (Aundra) Grant, Eddie (Donnie) Drummond and Keith Rayful; five (5) daughters, Beverly (Jesse) Wilkins, Yolanda Renea (John) Clayton, Gloria (Christopher) Hopson, Sherry (Reginald) Cross and Kathy Pryor; five (5) brothers, Robert Scott, Samuel (Dorothy) Scott, Clarence (Daphine) Scott, Willie M. Scott and adopted brother, Bobbie Palmer; one sister, Marie Gail (James) Eades; grandchildren; great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who will truly miss him.
