  UREY RUFUS BLACK, age 69, born to the union of the late Lucius and Mildred Delaine Black, Sr., was a native of Sumter County (York, Alabama), 1966 graduate of Sumter County Training School in Livingston, Alabama and continued his education at Alabama A & M University and Texas Southern University.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the Vietnam War.  Upon leaving the Army he worked in various positions in Detroit, and in 1971 - 1973 he secured a position playing saxophone with the Funkadelics, Marcus Dell Gray, Herbie Hancock and  The Dramatics just to name a few .  While with the Dramatics he produced and composed the song entitled 'What You See is What You Get' and the album was a hit!  Service of memory will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at his beloved Grants Chapel CME Church Cuba, Alabama, Pastor Izea Blanks officiating and Reverend Walter Ball Eulogist with interment in the Delaine Family plot of Cagus Cemetery.  His loving survivors are: devoted daughter; Ebony, brothers; Lucius and Don (Peggy), one niece; Dawn Kayla and nephew; Chad, and a host of relatives and friends.  His remains will lie in repose on Friday Evening from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at Weatherly Funeral Home York, Alabama.  Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing. To the entire Delaine Family, we at Westside and Weatherly Funeral Home, offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences.  Our prayer remains that your abiding faith in God will continue to comfort, to strengthen and sustain you during your many hours of sorrow.
