SARAH LEE CROOM MOBLEY, age 69 of York, Alabama, born to the union of the late Ira and Rachel Amerson Croom, transitioned peacefully surrounded by and supported by loving family at Specialty Hospital, Meridian, Mississippi, September 29, 2020 at 10:40 a.m. She was the eighth of ten children. Graveside Service of Memory and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Mount Powell Memorial Cemetery, Highway 11 East, York, with Rev. Wesley Winston, pastor, delivering the eulogy and offering words of comfort and consolation. The processional leaves the Weatherly parking lot at 10:40 a.m. Saturday morning for the Cemetery. Sarah confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Powell Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C. M. Roberts. She completed her elementary and secondary education in the Sumter County School System. She attended York West End and was a proud graduate of Sumter County High School. In 1972, Sara married Rufus Mobley and to this union two daughters were added. Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Joyce Marie Mobley; two sisters, four brothers and one nephew whom she raised. Those who remain to cherish precious memories and to celebrate her life are: a devoted husband, Rufus Mobley, York AL, one daughter, Shelia R. Croom Rice Bessemer, AL; two grand daughters, TeNesha (Jeremy) Miller, Hoover, AL., and TeKisha M Rice, Champagne, Illinois; one sister Willie Mae Johnson, Cleveland, Ohio; four brothers; R. D. and Robert Lee Croom, both of York, AL., Artur Lee (Angela) Croom and Ernest Lee (Jackie) Croom of Cleveland, Ohio; a special cousin who she helped raise, Kimberly Fluker, Huntsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She will truly be missed by all who had the opportunity of knowing her. To her husband Rufus Mobley, her daughter Shelia and her two granddaughters and the entire Mobley Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences.
