SARAH L. LARD, age 71, of York, Alabama, affectionately known as "Baby Sister," born to the late Andrew and Nadine Clay Coats, transitioned and entered into eternal rest at her residence on July 26, 2018.  Service of Remembrance will be Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from Mt. Powell Baptist Church, 11305 US Highway 11, York, Alabama.  Rev. Wesley Winston, pastor, will deliver the eulogy and offer words of comfort and consolation.  Sister Lard will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.  Interment follows in the adjacent Mount Powell Cemetery.  After the committal service, repast will will at the Old Interstate Ford Building, downtown York. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Tuesday evening (July 31st) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.  On Wednesday morning at 10:40 a.m. the processional leaves from the Lard residence located 118 Marbley Street.      Sarah united in Holy Matrimony to Willie Lard in March of 1963 and this union was blessed with (7) seven children; Willie preceeding her in death.  Ms. Sarah was a loving, kind soul with a delightful spirit that would light up the darkest room.  Her personality was as beautiful as the flowers she loved so well.       She was preceded in death by her older brother Johnnie B. Coats, who gave her the nickname 'baby sister", two sons, Michael and Kevin Lard, two step-chiildren, Jerry and Jujuan Eakins, two grandchildren, Eddrick Jones and Jennifer Eakins.       Sarah leaves to celebrate a beautiful life and to cherish precious memories: her children - Lora (Leroy) Harris, Lauderdale, Ms., Willie Lard, Marilyn (Joseph Blanks) Lard, Cynthia (Tony) Evans, Dianne Lard, and her special daughter "Tiny", all of York, Al; nine (9) step-children that she treated as her own, Bobby Eakins and Bonita Carlisle of Detroit, MI., Lynn Lake of Chattanooga, TN., LeAnder (Mia) Lake of Spring Hill, CA., Willie (Sandra) Lake of York, AL., and Robert and Jeffrey (Monica) Artis of Jackson, MS;  she further has 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren;  her step-dad, Marshall (Juanita) Agee;  Siblings, Lenward (Barbara) Agee of Detroit, MI., Brenda (Ronnie) McDaniels, Dover, NJ., Samuel (Rose) Agee, William (Easter) Agee, Mary (Robert) Pritchett, Linda (Ray) Agee, Glenn (DeAnna) Agee, Cecil (Kimberly) Agee and Janeen Sewell.  She also had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that she shared her love with freely.       To the entire Lard Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home, offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences.  Our prayer remains that your abiding faith in God will continue to comfort, to strengthen and sustain you during your many hours of sorrow.
