ROBERT EARL McABOY, age 71, of Cuba, Alabama, born to the union of the late Tom and Ethel Lee Gibbs McAboy, transitioned and entered into eternal rest January 26, 2021 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, Jackson. Graveside Service of Memory and Life Celebration is slated for Sunday afternoon, January 31, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gibbs Family Cemetery, county road #27, Cuba. Rev. Willie Wilson, pastor of Morning Star Baptist Church will deliver the eulogy and offer words of comfort and consolation. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Saturday evening from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. He married his soulmate, Vallie Ray McShan on August 21, 1971. He worked at Kansas City Southern Railroad for thirty five (35) years until he retired in 2003. He, also was an avid gardener and a lover of all sports. He accepted Christ at an early age and lived his life as a faithful servant of the Lord. Being a faithful member of Morning Star Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Rev. Willie Wilson, he sang in the male chorus. His happiest time was spent working in his yard and spending time with his family. Those left to cherish precious memories forever and to celebrate his life are: a loving wife of forty nine (49) years, Vallie Ray; three daughters, Treva McAboy, Robbie McAboy and Catina McAboy; granddaughters-Lakeisha (Jeffrey) Phillips, Ebony (Charles) Welch and Tamara McAboy-Walker; two grandsons-Marcus Hill, Jr., and Xavier McShan; great-granddaughters-Jalaysia and Jalandria Philllips, Lakayla and Alana Welch and great-grandson, Shakyrion Williams; siblings: Christine (Dean) Delaine, Dorothy (Herbert) Hawkins, James Ray McAboy, Eddie (Shirley) McAboy, and Johnnie (Rosie) Austin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends who loved him dearly and whom he also loved. He was preceded in death by his son, Negail McShan, his parents and his sisters, Verina Moore and Annie Bell Kirksey, and his brother Tommie Lee McAboy. To the entire McAboy Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences.
