MARIE GAIL EADES, age 69, of Cuba, Alabama, was born to the union of the late Robert and Olevia Bollar Scott in Cuba, Alabama on June 10, 1955. She peacefully transitioned to the will of God and entered into eternal rest at her residence on June 24, 2024. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 5051 Kinterbish 10, Cuba. Rev. C. Wayne Davis is church pastor; with Sister Julene Ruffin Delaine serving as Mistress of Order. Sister Eades will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time with interment and committal services following in Cagus Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Monday evening (July 1st) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. Marie's educational background as a child was that she attended Kinterbish Jr. High and then graduated from Sumter County High in 1973. She was a seamstress for Rob Roy Industries for several years. She also was employed as a line cook for TA (Travel Center of America) for over 20 years. However, her love and passion of plants and gardening inspired her to start her own business, 3 J Nursery and Lawn Care. She operated and maintained this business for about 25 years. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was an earnest and dedicated member actively serving as an usher and Sunday School teacher. She was always willing to be a helping hand when needed and spread the word and the love of Christ whenever possible. Marie was joined in holy matrimony to James Earl Eades on January 10, 1976; and to the union two girls and three boys were born. She was preceded in death by brothers - Charles Scott, Samuel Scott (Dorothy) and Venson Scott; her two sisters, Lue Ellen Scott and Georgia Mae Edwards; her two angels - Anthony and Angela. Those who will cherish special memories of her are; her two sons Jason Eades (Kayla), of Denton, TX Jeremie Eades of Montgomery Al, and daughter Janeka Eades of Mobile, Al ; one grandson Collin and two bonus grandchildren Kassidy and Kayden; three brothers - Clarence Scott ( Delphine) of Cuba, Al, Robert Scott Jr.(Brenda) of Ann Arbor, MI. and Willie Scott (Sandra) of Cuba Al; a foster brother, Bobby Palmore; nephew, Eddie Grant(Audrey); a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends who loved her and whom she also loved.
