Maria Garabics

Maria Garabics 27, of Birmingham AL, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 28, 2025. She is survived by her mother Susan Garabics, twin brother Stephen Garabics, sister Renee Garabics, brother Nicolas Garabics, her boyfriend Joshua Holmes, Sister Aimee Sherman and her husband AJ, sister Stacey Cotter and her husband Travis, her nieces Shay, Natalie and Brooke, nephew Teagan and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Maria was predeceased by her father Mark Garabics, Maternal grandparents Diane and Otto DiDomenico and paternal grandparents Lois and Stephen Garabics.

Maria graduated with her Masters in Public Administration from LSU and started working with Alabama Families for great schools where she was fighting hard to pass new legislation for public schools in Alabama.

Maria loved her sweet dog Rowan, walking her everyday and taking her to the dog park. She loved spending time with Josh and her family. She enjoyed spending time with friends. Her best friend was her sister Renee who will miss her long conversations and text messages.

Maria had a lot of life to live and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rest In Peace my sweet beautiful girl. We love you.
