Margarette "Nikki" Amerson

MARGARETTE AMERSON, age 87, affectionately known by many as Nikki, was born to the blessed union of the late Edgar and Leona Hendon Amerson March 14, 1938 in York; Sumter County, Alabama.  She peacefully transitioned to the Will of God at her residence surrounded by loving family on August 19, 2025 at 7:15 a.m. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, located 254 McConnell Street.  Rev. Jonathan Byrd, pastor, will deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation with Sis. Bernice Nixon serving as Mistress of Order.  Sister Amerson will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.  Interment and Service of Committal follows in Home Mission Cemetery, off of Millville Road 19, also York, Alabama.  Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Tuesday evening from 2-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.  On Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. the processional leaves with Escort service from the parking lot of Weatherly Funeral Home.  **(Please turn on flashing lights for extra safety)**
