Larry Don Jackson

LARRY DON JACKSON, age 58, of York, Alabama, born the 10th of January 1960 to the late Mitchell Jones and Florine Jackson Williams, transitioned and entered into eternal rest at his residence June 21, 2018. A Memorial Service of Remembrance is Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Powell Baptist Church, 11305 US Highway 11, York, Alabama, with Rev. Wesley Winston, pastor, delivering the eulogy and offering words of comfort and consolation;  Sister Thelma Carlisle serving as Mistress of Order.       Larry was adopted and raised by the late Florence Hale.  In 1977 he met his high school sweetheart Bettie Hawkins and on the 22nd of August 1985 they were married.  From this blessed union two children, LaMarcus (Jabril Bey) and Felicia Jackson were born.  Deacon Jackson confessed his faith in Christ at an early age.  He received his Deaconship at Mt. Powell Baptist Church where he remained a member until he was called Home.     Those who remain to cherish precious memories are:  his wife, Bettie H. Jackson of Huntsville, AL.,a son, LaMarcus K. Jackson a.k.a. Jabril Bey (Mecca Jackson), Harvest, AL., two daughters, Felicia R. Jackson of Montgomery, AL. and Ashley C. Lockett of Livingston, AL., three grandchildren - McKenzie Lockett, Logan Lockett and Jamil Jackson-Bey;  a sister, Alicia Reynolds (Melvin Haynes, Jr.II) of Detroit, MI., sister-in-law, Annetriss Hawkins of York, AL., and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.  Larry will truly be missed.     To his wife Bettie and the entire Jackson Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathies and condolences.  Our prayer remains that your abiding faith in God will continue to comfort, to strengthen and sustain you during this your time of most profound sorrow.
