JOHNNY LEWIS "Rock" COOK, age 55, of York, Alabama, born in Sumter County to the union of Elizah and Dazaree Cook Jones, transitioned and entered into eternal rest March 4, 2020 at his mother's residence, located 205 Moore Avenue. Service of Memory is slated for Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gymnasium of York West End Jr. High School. Rev. Wesley Winston, pastor of Mt. Powell Baptist Church, will deliver the eulogy and offer words of comfort and consolation. Rock will lie in repose at the school one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in Mt. Powell Memorial Cemetery, Highway 11 East, adjacent to Mt. Powell Church, with repast in the Fellowship Hall of the church following the committal service. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (March 13th) from 3-6:00 in the Weatherly Chapel. Those who remain to cherish his memories and to celebrate a beautiful life are: a loving mother, Mrs. Dazaree Jones; brothers and sisters - Curtis Chaney, Bellflower, California, Debra (Leon) Scales, Livingston, Alabama, Arthur (Patricia) Cook, of Hattiesburg, MS., Clarice (Russell) Adamson, Cleveland, Ohio, Jacqueline Cook, Inglewood, Calif, Willie Cook, York, Alabama, Cynthia (Wayne) Johnson, Livingston, AL., Mattie Williams, Sarah Moody, Lorene Watson, Emma McNeal, Annie Davis, Sandra Linda Washington, (Preceded in Death), Annetriss Hawkins, Tommy Jones, and Marcus Ray Davis, all of York, Alabama; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
