Jerry Lane Parker

JERRY LANE PARKER, age 62, of York, Alabama, born October 28, 1957 to the blessed union of Esau Lard and Kate Parker, transitioned and entered into eternal rest April 27, 2020 at Hill Hospital of Sumter County. Graveside Service of Memory is slated for Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in Elmwood Memorial Gardens, Highway 11-East, also York, Alabama with Rev. Herman Evans, pastor of St. Peter Baptist Church, Emelle, Alabama, delivering the eulogy and offering words of comfort and consolation. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening, May 1, 2020 from 2-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. On Saturday afternoon, the processional leaves from the parking lot of the funeral home at 2:45. Jerry was the second oldest of three children. He accepted Christ at an early age, later joining Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Cuba, Alabama. He worked at Moldwood Corporation (Sonoco) from a young age until the company closed its doors. He loved to eat and often found something to smile about; being a lovable and kind person and it showed in his heart and always on his face. Those who have preceded him in death are his parents; and those who remain to celebrate his life and to cherish precious memories are: three sons - Kendrick (Katina) Robinson, Tuscaloosa, AL., Jeremy (Nichole) Robinson, Birmingham, AL., and Brandon Robinson of York, Al., one daughter, Felicia Robinson of Tuscaloosa, AL., two sisters, Bennie (Jimmie) Parker and Ramona Parker, both of York, AL., six (6) grandchildren - Nicholas, Kennedi, Na'Kyriah, Camden, Kayden, and Callie, along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, former classmates, neighbors and co-workers who loved Jerry and whom he also loved.
