Jeff Rupert Deavers, 72, of Oneonta, AL., entered into eternal rest and transitioned October 16, 2019 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Biirmingham.  Preceding him in death were his parents, Rupert and Luegene Payne Deavers;  his siblings - JoAnn Mitchell, Rex, Archie and Johnny Deavers.  Those who remain to cherish precious memories and to celebrate his life are:  his wife, Jeannette Deavers; sons-Reginald (Shonda) Ruffin and Lamon (Tishunda) Ruffin;  daughters Nashonda Howard and Kenya Bell;  grandchildren, Diallo Coleman, Recaria and Montarius Ruffin;  one great grandchild;  siblings- Joan (Mathis) Jones, Demetrius (Stephanie) Deavers and Bobby Deavers;  six nieces; eight nephews; mother of his sons-Versie Ruffin and the mother of his daughters-M. Goree. Funeral Service of Remembrance is slated for Friday, November 1, 2019 at 1:15 PM from the Church of God In Christ in Oneonta with Pastor Frederick Moton and Sister Henrietta Moton officiating.  Interment follows in Oak Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral time at the church.  Serving as active pallbearers are:  Torrence Mitchell, Trey Henry, Lamon Ruffin, Alvin Jennings, Hezeki Jennings, and Percy Warren with lead pallbearer being Reginald Ruffin. To the Deavers Family, the Studdard-Weatherly Family offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences. As Jeff was a former employee of Weatherly Funeral Home many years ago and the nephew of the late Prof. James and Addie Mae Weatherly, we here share deeply in your sorrow. Our prayer remains that your abiding faith in God will continue to comfort, to strengthen and sustain you during your time of bereavement.
