FREDERICK (Fred) JOHNSON, age 75, was born January 25, 1949 in Birmingham; Jefferson County; Alabama to the union of Johnnie and Virginia Sherrer Johnson, Sr. Fred peacefully transitioned and made his earthly departure on January 30, 2024. As Fred would say, "It's been a Wonderful Life." Visitation will be one hour prior to the Celebration of Life Services at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Mount Herman Baptist Church, located 1930 Millville Road 19, York, Alabama 36925 with the interment and Service of Committal following in Elmwood Memorial Gardens, 11313 US Highway 11, also York. A repast for family and friends will take place in the Fellowship Hall of Mt. Herman after the committal. At 11:40 a.m. the processional leaves from the family residence - located 200 Pacific Avenue, York. Visitation and Family fellowship will be in Birmingham, Alabama from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist, 9000 - 17th Avenue, North 35206. Fred leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his many memories: a loving wife, Bessie Gayle Wilson Johnson; six (6) children Rashard Johnson, Marquese Johnson, Knikita Aydelotte, Shana Tarman, Tamika Curry and Kisha Lockhart; one stepson, Shafford (Michelle) Campbell; four (4) brothers; Willie C. Johnson, Leon (Patricia) Johnson, Min. Earnest Johnson and Clarence (Paulette) Johnson; four (4) sisters, Rev. Evelyn Johnson, Nettie R. Fluker, Olivia Johnson and Delores V. Smith; two brothers-in-law, Douglas (Betty) Barnes and Lorenzo (Mae Willie) Brown; two sisters-in-law, Gracie (Derrick) Oliver and Diane (Jerome) Lewis; thirteen (13) grandchildren; twenty-three (23) great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
