FELIX JAMES BARRON, age 60, of Cuba, Alabama, affectionately known as "Battle Cat" born November 13, 1960 to the union of John Charles (J. C.) Barron and Rosie Lee Bell, transitioned and entered into eternal rest at his residence July 8, 2021. Graveside Service of Memory and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Morning Star Cemetery, Cuba. Rev. Coley Rogers will deliver the eulogy and offer expressions of comfort and consolation; with Dr. Cynthia Jemison serving as Mistress of Order. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening, (July 16th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. He was baptized at an early age at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Cuba, Alabama, under the pastorate of Rev. Granger. Throughout his adulthood, Felix was a dependable and kind-hearted person who would help anyone in need. He was humble and hardworking and was skilled in many areas. For years, he was a logger, working in the Lumber industry; was a skilled mechanic who knew about cars, lawn movers and almost anything electrical. He dabbled in the building construction profession and helped to contract many building projects in Sumter County and the surrounding towns. He was really a true friend indeed. Those who have preceded him in death are his beloved parents. To celebrate a life well-lived and to cherish precious memories of Felix are: a very dear friend, Patricia Cruz of Cuba, Alabama; four sisters- Ora Dee (Jeffery) Davis, Birmingham, AL., Shelia (Adrian) Bell, Cuba, Alabama, Mary Ann Wilson, Huntsville, AL., and Mattie Crawford of New York City; three brothers, Russell Barron, York, AL., Paul (Katie) Barron and Charles Crawford of New York City; a life long friend, Stanley Thornton; also he leaves to mourn numerous aunts, one aunt in particular that cares from the depths of her heart for all family members- Wilma Bell; uncles, nieces, nephews, many friends and neighbors who will truly miss "Battle Cat".
