       FANNIE DRUMMOND, age 82, of Cuba, Alabama, born to the late Frank and Merle Gowdy Pickens, Jr. transitioned and entered into eternal rest March 16, 2018 at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation, York, Alabama.  Service of Remembrance is Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 1000 Old US Highway 11, Cuba.  Rev. Ronnie Walk, pastor, will deliver the eulogy and offer words of comfort and consolation. Sister Drummond will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.  Interment follows in the adjacent Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  After the committal service, repast is at the Morning Star Community Center.  On Friday evening (March 23rd) visitation for family and friends is scheduled from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.  The processional leaves from the funeral home on Saturday morning at 10:40 a.m.         She joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at an early age, where she was a member until her death on March 16, 2018. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Merle Lee, Annie Mae Knighton, Rosie Mae Gaines, Lessie Landrum, Rebecca Ann Collins and four brothers; John Henry, Johnny Lee, Louis Lee, and R.H. Pickens.        She was fondly called "The Avon Lady" by her family, friends and many customers who purchased Avon products from her. She was often seen with her car trunk up, selling products to happy customers. Fannie loved life and loved helping others. Her passions were singing and gardening.        She leaves to cherish her memories: One son, Jerry (Vicky) Drummond of Dallas, TX; three sisters, Nellie Gaines of Kinterbish, AL; Luerine Lake of Livingston, AL and Francis Hinton of Cuba, AL; three brothers, Abraham (Edna) Pickens of Lauderdale, MS, Joseph Pickens of Peoria, IL and Dan Thornton of Cuba, AL: 3 grandchildren, Yolanda Chaney of Chicago, Ill, Cherlyn (Theodis) McVay of Tuscaloosa, AL and Camille Foreman of Dallas, TX; 2 great grandchildren; Mark and Timothy McVay, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.              To the entire Drummond Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy and condolences.  Our prayer remains that your abiding faith in God will continue to comfort, to strengthen and sustain you during your many hours of sorrow.
