DOROTHY JEAN MILLER DONALD, age 76, of York, Alabama, affectionately known as "Dot", born to the union of the late Jimmy Miller and Sallie C. Rhodes peacefully transitioned December 6, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center East, Montgomery, Alabama. Life Celebration and Graveside Service of Memory is slated for Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Elmwood Memorial Gardens, Highway 11 East, York, Alabama. Rev. Marcus Lawrence (pastor of First Baptist Church, Wahalak, Ms. and Mt. Arratt, Scooba, Ms.) will deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation; Rev. Michael Howard, pastor of Morning Star Baptist Church, Bellamy, is officiant. Visitation for family and friends is Friday evening (Dec.11th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Repose Room of Weatherly Funeral Home. Dorothy was the youngest of two children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Oliver Ross. She confessed her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and joined the Morning Star Baptist Church, Bellamy. She was educated at Sumter County Training School. For many years she worked at Sumter County Opportunity as a Teacher's Aide in the Head Start Program. Those who remain to honor and celebrate her precious memories are: five loving, dedicated children; Deborah (Willie, Sr.) Green, Detroit, MI., Jimmy (Jackie) Donald, Darlene Donald, Gregory (Loretta) Donald and Brian Evans, all of Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, Willie Green, Jr, Ranesha (Antoine) Gray and Antoine Green all of Detroit, MI., Demita (Marcus) Donald-Hutcherson, Natasha (Ronald) Williams, Cierra, Adrian and Amber Donald, all of Montgomery AL., and Earlesha Paige of Bellamy, AL; nine great grandchildren; a nephew and nieces; Charlotte (Norman) Ruffin who was like a sister; dedicated cousin, Charles (Vivian) Miller; special friends, Willie "Bo" Woodard, Sr., Barbara Phillips and Burnetta Baskin and many other who loved her dearly and whom she also loved.
