SPC DONZELL KIANTE BROOKS, age 25, of York, Alabama, stationed at Ft. Stewart; Hinesville, Georgia, born a twin August 7, 1994 to the union of Eddie Morris and Carolyn Artis Brooks, transitioned and entered into eternal rest February 3, 2020. Service of Memory is slated for Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 12:00 noon from Sumter Central High School, 13878 US highway 11, York, Alabama, with Rev. Ronnie Walk delivering the eulogy and offering words of comfort and consolation. Interment follows with full military honors in Elmwood Memorial Gardens, Highway 11 East, York. After the committal service, repast and fellowship is at the Old interstate Building, downtown York, Alabama. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (Feb. 14th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. On Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m., the military lead processional leaves the Brooks family residence, located 465 Booth Street. Donzell accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Cuba, Alabama. His educational journey began at York Headstart Center; then attended York West End Jr. High; transferred to Kinterbish Jr. High in third grade; attended Sumter County High School in York, Alabama until the end of his junior year when the doors of Sumter High closed. His senior year was completed at Sumter Central High School where his class, "The Class of 2012", was the first to graduate from the school. After high school, Donzell attended the University of West Alabama for two years. Later he decided to join the United States Army like his twin brother, Donovan Diante Brooks. He was currently stationed at Fort Stewart in Hinesville, Georgia. Donzell departed his life on Monday, February 03, 2020 at Fort Stewart in Hinesville, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers; Mrs. Katie Lee Artis-Green and Mrs. Annie Pearl Brooks; his grandfathers - William Brooks and Henry Fowler and his older brother, Eric Terrell Evans. Survivors include those his leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving mother, Carolyn Artis-Brooks of York, AL; his father and step-mother Eddie (Lisa) Brooks of Cuba, AL; a son whom he loved dearly, Eric Keon Brooks; and the love of his life and the mother of his son, D'Sha Delaine (Red Momma); two brothers, Joseph Green (Joe) of York, Al; three sisters, Erica Evans, York, Al., Ashley Evans, Cuba, AL. and Jasmine Wallace of Hattiesburg, MS. Donzell loved all his aunts, uncles, cousins nephews, friends, classmates, fellow soldiers and other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
