CATHY LORETTA JEMISON, age 66, of Cuba, Alabama, affectionately known as "Kitty Cat" was born December 31, 1957 to the union of the late Ervin and Dorothy Lee Childs Jemison. She peacefully transitioned to the Will of God at her residence May 21, 2024 at 12:00 noon. Service of Remembrance and Life Celebration is slated for Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Grants Chapel CME Church, 5290 Kinterbish 10, also Cuba. Rev. Walter Ball will officiate, offering words of comfort and consolation; Rev. Izea Blanks is church pastor. Interment follows in Cagus Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled May 31, 2024 from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. She confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, and she joined the Grant's Chapel C.M.E. Church, where she was the former leader of the Food ministry, having a sincere passion and love for feeding others at church and in the community. She was a very dedicated, faithful member. She worked as a plug packer at Sonoco Products Manufacturing Company for thirty-one years. Those left to cherish precious memories and to celebrate a beautiful life are: four loving and devoted sisters - Gwendolyn Jemison, Cuba, AL, Angela Reynolds of Cleveland Heights, OH., Wendy L. Jemison, York, Al., and Dr. Cynthia Jemison of Cuba, Al; two brothers - Stanley Jemison of Cuba, AL., and Antoine Jemison of Atlanta, GA; several aunts, Susie Brown of Dayton, OH., Geraldine Charles of Los Angeles, CA., Mary Sue Otis, Rosemary Jemison and Asyzine Jemison of Chicago, IL., four uncles - Tommie Lee Jemison, Chicago, Ill, Ray Charles, Los Angeles, CA. and Mr. Fredrick Hines and Jessie Hines of Livingston, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dedicated friends; very close friends - Ms. Betty Noble, Mrs. Bettye Jo Miller and Mrs. Gracie Jones; two devoted nieces, Jazlyn and JaNiya Jemison; and devoted families - the Brunsons, Tankerlys and Mrs. Bernice Delaine's Family.
