ANTHONY JAMES PORTER, age 35, of Cuba, Alabama, born August 12, 1987 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi to the union of Percy George Porter, III and Joan Elizabeth Brown, was tragically and fatally injured July 2, 2023 across from the Old Cuba School off of the Old Wire Road. Service of Memory and Life Celebration services are to be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 5395 Wright Spur Road, Kewanee, Mississippi. Anthony will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Jerry L. Johnson, pastor, will deliver the eulogy offering words of comfort and consolation; with Minister James Matt Seals serving as Master of Ceremony Interment follows in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (July 14th) from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. He attended York West End Jr. High School, later graduating from Sumter County High School in 2006 where he loved the game of basketball and played football while he was a student there. In August of 2006, Anthony attended Auto-Diesel College in Nashville, TN and graduated May 11, 2007 concentrating in the area of Collision Repair and Refinishing technology. Anthony joined Spring Hill Baptist Church early in life, and actively participated in the choir and was a drill team member for many years. Anthony loved music and especially found joy in Rapping when he sometimes made up lyrics on the spur of the moment. He also loved telling jokes and funny stories and could make you roll over with laughter. With his sense of humor, he was a delight to be around during those times. Loved ones who remain to cherish precious memories are his devoted and caring parents; Joan Elizabeth and Lowrinzy (“Pike”) Hull of Cuba, Alabama; two brothers, Andropolous (Natosha) Porter and Christopher Hull, both of Atlanta, GA., two sisters – Shayla Hull (Lewis) Little of Meridian, MS and Amanda Tanksley of Cuba, Alabama along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends who will truly miss Anthony.
