ANNIE RUTH NELSON, age 84, of York, Alabama, affectionately known by everyone as "Miss Boot-T", born to the union of the late Tom Sturdivant and Armetta Pearson in Sumter County, Alabama, transitioned and entered into eternal rest at her residence, March 3, 2020. Service of Memory is slated for Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from Mt. Herman Baptist Church, Millville Road #19 of York. Rev. Tony Hearn will deliver the eulogy and offer words of comfort and consolation; where Rev. Willie Sims is church pastor. Sister Nelson will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral service. Interment follows in the adjacent Mt. Herman Cemetery. After the committal service, repast and fellowship is in the cafeteria of York West End Jr. High School, 515 Lincoln Street. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (March 13th) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. Those who remain to cherish precious memories and to celebrate a beautiful life are: Her two (2) sons - Derrick Nelson, Livingston, AL. and Ricky (Carol) Ivory of York, Alabama; her sister, Gladys Ivory of Peoria, Ill; eighteen (18) grandchildren; two (2) great grandchildren; two (2) step sons- Rev. Tony Hearn and Gerald (Margaret) Hearn of Cuba, Alabama; two (2) step brothers-Clarence and Alfred Campbell; a sister-in-law, Mable Nelson and numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who loved her dearly and whom she also loved. Miss Boot-T will surely be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her two sons - Dion Nelson and Jeffrey Ivory, Jr., her sister, Dorothy Lard and her brother-in-law, Pastor Jeffrey Ivory, Sr. To the entire Nelson Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathies and condolences.
