   CHARLES W. 'Omega" WILLIAMS, age 68, of Cohassett, MA., born in Sumter County, Alabama to the late George Henry and Lillie Mae Fowler Williams, departed this life April 17, 2016 at Weymouth Memorial Hospital, Weymouth, MA.        Charles was a tireless "Drum major for Justice" in the Boston Community. Known to many as "Omega," in his continuing struggle for Civil Rights, he was also known as "The Tree Man" relative to his work as a tree trimmer. Charles "Omega" W. Williams attended York West End Elementary School in York, Alabama and St. Henry's Catholic School in Dorchester,MA. He was employed by Anderson Little Clothing in earlier years. Later, he became a construction worker, a member of the AFLCIO, working during the time of the "Big Dig." During his childhood, Charles was a member of Wesley Chapel CME Church in York. In Boston, he was a member of Grant AME Church.     Service of Remembrance is to be held Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from Soul Chapel United Methodist Church, Geiger, Alabama.  Rev. Kelvin Cockrell will deliver the eulogy and offer words of consolation;  Rev. Tommy Wilson is church pastor with Sister Carolyn Dailey serving as Mistress of Order.  Mr. Williams will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.  Interment follows in Rancher Cemetery, also Geiger.  After the committal service, the family will receive friends for Fellowship and repast at the Geiger Community Center.  Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Sunday afternoon (April 24th) from 2-5:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel.     Those who remain to cherish precious memories and to celebrate his life are:  two brothers- Forrest W. (Dorothy) Williams and Fameous (Florence, deceased) Williams, one sister- Georgia F. Williams-Murphy (George Murphy, deceased); many cousins and numerous other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.   To the Williams and Fowler Family, we at Weatherly Funeral Home offer to each of you our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy.  Our prayer remains that your abiding faith in God will continue to comfort, to strengthen and sustain you during your time of bereavement.
